A classic of Peruvian summers. Strawberries, water, and sugar are blended, bagged, and frozen into intensely fruity, refreshing ice pops. Cheap, easy, and wonderfully uncomplicated: the familiar marciano made to beat the heat from the first bite.

Wash the strawberries well, remove the leaves and any bruised areas, and halve the larger berries. Ripe, clean fruit gives plenty of flavor without needing extracts or other additions.
Add the strawberries, water, and white sugar to the blender. Blend for 40 to 45 seconds, until no large pieces remain and the mixture is smooth and fluid. Taste it before freezing: it should feel fruity and slightly sweeter than you would normally drink it, since freezing dulls the perception of sweetness.
Using the funnel, divide the mixture among 8 bags, leaving about two finger-widths of space at the top. Push out large air pockets, tie firmly, and arrange them in the freezer compartment. Freeze for at least 6 hours, until every marciano is completely solid from end to end.
Turn what you find into an experience you can actually bring to your kitchen.
